New school site fully revealed

The cover over the sign announcing the site for the new school in Moncton’s north end had already partially slipped off…..now it’s all the way off.

Finance Minister and Moncton South MLA Cathy Rogers, along with district officials, pulled the cover off yesterday afternoon showing the new school will be built off Maplehurst Street between Teaberry Avenue and Windcrest Street. It should be ready to house up to 700 grade 6-8 students in the fall of 2019.

Bank robber sentenced

A Moncton man has been sentenced to nine years for a number of bank holdups last year.

37 year old Terry Edmond Babineau was given credit for time spent in custody since his arrest last September. He made no comment before the judge sentenced him…other than drug addiction was at the root of the crimes. Babineau pleaded guilty to 20 charges in connection with three bank jobs last August.
