Wayward whale still in trouble

It’s not clear what’s happening with a young Beluga whale flown from the Nepisiquit River to the St. Lawrence off Quebec and whether he’s able to eat or has joined other belugas.

The Group for Research and Education on Marine Mammals says the next few days will be critical. Satellite tracking suggests the young whale is spending a lot of time near the surface and may not be strong enough to swim against the strong currents there.

Gov’t introduces security changes

The Trudeau Government has introduced long-awaited security legislation after consulting with Canadians.

The bill would limit the ability of the Canadian Security Agency to disrupt terrorist plots…but would also give it the power to conduct its own  cyberattacks against foreign targets. The bill would also set up a new watchdog to bring all security services, including the military, under one embrella.
