Softwood lumber didn’t come up in Washington meeting

It seems Maine’s Governor didn’t support New Brunswick Softwood lumber, after all, in a meeting with President Donald Trump yesterday.

The Gallant Government said earlier this week that Paul LePage would be supporting an exemption from tariffs for New Brunswick lumber when he met the president…but a spokesman for LePage told CBC it didn’t come up. He reiterated it is a very important issue for the governor and heĀ  had hoped to discuss it with Trump but didn’t get the chance.
