Trudeau in Cuba

Prime Minister Trudeau was welcomed to Cuba yesterday by its President Raul Castro.

He said Cuba is progressing as fast as it is able to….and he warned other countries are undertaking reforms too quickly without regard for the needs of their people.

Trudeau stopped in Cuba on the first leg of a trade mission to South America.

Calls for a national dementia strategy

Health Minister Jane Philpott had tears as she spoke about her father’s struggle with dementia. She was commenting after the release of a Senate report recommending a national strategy to deal with the problem. The report suggested the government spend $30 million a year to ensure such a plan is adequately funded.

Philpott suggested the Trudeau Government plans to support such a national strategy.
