Dieppe city council has concluded its budget deliberations…but won’t make it public until the December 12th meeting. So we don’t know if the tax rate will rise or hold steady, according to the Times and Transcript.

Councillors heard presentations on the financial pressures facing the city especially with Codiac RCMP. Then there are several roads and the Centennial Arena that need costly repairs.  Mayor Yvon Lapierre believes the unconditional grant from the province is grossly unfair to Dieppe.

Brothers jailed for drug trafficking

22 year old Sebastian Jeremai Ndombi pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 30 months. With credit for time served in custody on remand, he has two years left to serve. His brother, 24 year old Jean Sylvio Ndombi, also pleaded guilty and was given one year. The brothers also forfeited $12,000 in cash found in a High Street apartment when they were arrested in July.
