The Richibucto RCMP are investigating a house fire that claimed the life of one person.
Police and firefighters were called to the blaze on Weldfield Collette Road in Napan at about 5 in the morning on Saturday.
An unidentified body was found in the building.
An autopsy will be conducted.
Five communities will host public meetings to share concerns about the January Ice Storm that crippled parts of the province for 10 days.
The 90 minute public meetings will be held April 3rd to 6th in Tracadie, Bas-Caraquet, Lameque, Miramichi and Richibucto.
The meetings are part of the province’s review of the response to the ice storm which at it’s height knocked out power to 130-thousand-people.
A final report with recommendations is expected in July.
