Miramichi and area storm meeting schedules

Five communities will host public meetings about the January Ice Storm that crippled parts of the province for 10 days.

The Miramichi meeting will be held Tuesday April 4th at the Beaverbrook Kin Centre at 6:30 p.m.

Other sessions are set for April 2nd in Tracadie, April 3rd in Richibucto; and April 5th in Laméque, along with Friday; April 6th, in Bas-Caraquet.

The meetings are part of the province’s review of the response to the ice storm which at it’s height knocked out power to 130-thousand-people.

Doaktown donation

The Doaktown Atlantic Salmon Museum has received a large collection of fly-fishing items for Canada’s 150 year anniversary.

The collection is worth about half a million dollars, and represents almost six decades of collecting.

The John Keith-King family, of Duncan, B.C., made the donation.
