A man has been arrested after a drug bust in Richibucto. What’s believed to be meth and hydromorphone pills were seized from an Evangeline Street residence this morning, as well as cash and a firearm. The 59-year-old is due in court at a later date.

Bathurst law enforcement unit loses funding
A Bathurst-based law enforcement office has shut down after the province cut its funding. The Northeast Integrated Intelligence Unit wrapped up as of April 1st. It was out of the Bathurst Police Force building and had three of their officers, one from Miramichi, one from Beresford/Nigadoo/Petit-Rocher/Pointe-Verte’s regional force and a Mountie.
