The local Diocese is planning to reduce the number of churches they have.
The first public meeting will be on Tuesday, April 25th; starting at 12:30 in the afternoon at St Mary’s Church on Newcastle Boulevard, followed by one starting at 7pm, at St Michael’s Basilica, on Howard Street.
A third meeting will also be held on the 26 at 12:30pm at St Bridget’s Church in Renous.
This summer, a problem intersection on Douglastown Boulevard in Miramichi will finally be addressed.
Traffic lights will be installed at what’s known locally as the Boston Pizza intersection, which can get very busy.
It’s now even busier since the new Service Canada building opened at the rear of the Walmart property, and the addition of Winners and Giant Tiger to the Douglastown retail area.
