Enrolment down for area-schools

Student enrolment continues to drop in northeast New Brunswick schools, that; according to The Miramichi Leader.

Figures for the current school year are as follows:  JMH was down by 63, MVHS dropped by 7; the Harkins Middle School lost 106, St. Andrew’s Elementary was down by 20; Napan Elementary dropped by 9, Nelson Rural lost 17; North South Esk Elementary fell by 8, and the North South Esk High School dropped 23.

Miramichi and Renous church meetings

The local Diocese is planning to reduce the number of churches they have.

The first public meeting will be tomorrow starting at 12:30 in the afternoon at St. Mary’s Church on Newcastle Boulevard, followed by one starting at 7pm, at St Michael’s Basilica, on Howard Street.

A third meeting will also be held on Wednesday at 12:30pm at St Bridget’s Church in Renous.
