Miramichi city council is putting forward a pair of motions today regarding the structure and potential location of a new Miramichi rec centre.

The tentatively-named Miramichi Multiplex would have one NHL-sized ice surface with 18 hundred seats, a three-lane walking track; an aquatics centre, a double gym; and more.

The price tag could range between 40 and 60 million dollars.

Neguac is getting 494 thousand dollars from the federal, provincial; and the village itself, to upgrade its wastewater system.

Part of that cash is coming from the federal government’s Clean Water and Wastewater Fund.

That work will cut the infiltration of well water into the wastewater system.
