A Vimy Oak sapling is on its way from Ontario to Doaktown as a part of the Vimy Foundation’s Vimy Oaks initiative.
This year is the 100th anniversary of the Great War and the battle which claimed thousands of Canadian lives.
The sapling will be planted at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch Number 23 in Doaktown this coming Wednesday afternoon at 3.
On Saturday May 20th, at the Rodd Miramichi from 9 in the morning until one in the afternoon; the Miramichi Kinsmen Centre will have an info session about the Miramichi Community Project Fund.
This allows people to team up with service clubs and/or non-for-profits organizations and propose community projects to be voted on by the public.
