Starting on Monday June 26th, the Southwest Miramichi River Bridge Number 2 in Blackville will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic as the decking and sidewalk are replaced.
Blackville Mayor Chris Hennessy says that there is a plan for emergency services access when the bridge is closed.
It will be off-limits for about 60 days.
Miramichi police are reminding drivers that on Sunday June 25th, the Miramichi Bridge will be closed for ten minutes from Hennessey Street behind the Miramichi Mall to the lights at Nelson Street between 8am to 8:10am due to the Rock ‘n Run marathons and races.
Officers will be watching traffic and warn you to be extra cautious of runners and volunteers.
