Friends of the Avon River are planning legal action over the Highway 101 twinning between Three Mile Plains and Falmouth. The province has approved an environmental assessment, but the group’s issue is the Avon River causeway would stay in place and keep blocking salmon. Chair Sonja Wood told Nova News Now a suit could be filed against multiple government departments, provincially and federally.

Annapolis County working on solution to replace clear-cutting
Annapolis County is working on an alternative to clear-cutting. Council was shot down twice by the province when it asked for a temporary stop to doing so on Crown land. Members are now doing research and planning a workshop to ready a proposal.
