Yarmouth Road Concerns

Jessica Cromwell was metres from her Weymouth Falls driveway with two of her children when the wheels of her minivan slid into a deep rut.

With tires sunk in mud up to the bottom of her door, they had to abandon their vehicle.

Her boyfriend eventually towed it free.

Cromwell says the Yarmouth Road has been in “absolutely horrible” shape since the weather warmed up and the ground started to thaw.

A Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal spokesperson said the spring is a difficult time of year for many gravel roads, especially when the weather swings from cold and snowy to warm and rainy.

Kentville Meeting TONIGHT

The Allen’s Motel property may be turned into an affordable housing complex.

The Kings County branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association made a presentation to Kentville’s Council Advisory Committee regarding that Park Street property.

There will be a public meeting about that in the Kentville Fire Hall tonight, from 7 til 9.
