There was a fire yesterday morning at the old Britex Building west of Bridgetown yesterday.
The fire in the fuel pellet and fire log plant was confined to the shipping area. Several pallets of fire logs were ablaze when an employee arrived for work and pulled a couple of propane tanks out of the building before fire fighters got there.
Production equipment was not damaged. Nobody was hurt.
A Kings County man has been sent for a psychiatric evaluation in connection with a meth lab in an apartment under the Kwik Way on Mee Road.
23 year old Andrew Ross Baltzer was ordered the assessment in court Monday, according to the Local Xpress.
Baltzer will be assessed for his criminal responsibility at the time of the alleged offence, as well as his fitness to stand trial. He’s facing charges of production of methamphetamine and mischief.
