Lawrencetown internet meeting on Monday

On Monday, people in Lawrencetown and the surrounding area will get information on the community broadband project at a public meeting.

It will take place March 27th at the library.

Two 90-foot towers have been put up so far, and electronic equipment installed.

The Lawrencetown service could cover 30 kilometres but that depends on the position of planned further towers.

Prices for a 15 megabit or a 20 megabit will be $60 and $100 a month respectively.

Allen’s Motel in Kentville

The Kings County branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association is backing off from the affordable housing project the organization proposed for the Allen’s Motel property in Kentville.

CMHA-Kings says that the Agreement of Purchase and Sale the organization made with Allen’s Motel Limited in January has been terminated.

One of the issues is the time it would take to get it rezoned.
