A rare lichen has been discovered on a small island in Kejimkujik national park.
The perforated ruffle lichen has never before been seen in Canada.
It was found by a Digby botanist at the top of a tree.

Valley pre-primary program
Applicatiuons are now being accepted for the government’s pre-primary program.
In the Valley region there’ll be four sites where the program will be offered for children who are four years old. They are in Summervile and Three Mile Plains in West Hants, Aylesford in Kings County and Cornwallis in Annapolis County.
Education Minister Zach Churchill told the Kings County Register school boards have begin the process of hiring early childhood educators and are on a very tight deadline.
