South Shore manslaughter case

A bail hearing for a young South Shore woman has been delayed to give her more time to find a lawyer.

26 year old Meghan Elizabeth Nowe is chareged with manslaughter, drug trafficking and other charges in the death of her sister; 22 year old Allison Ann Nowe who died in late April of a methadone overdose.

The case was adjourned until June 28th.

Windsor Junction charges

More charges have been laid against a Windsor Junction man accused of sexually assaulting a woman last December.

29 year old Pablo Moises Alas has been committed to stand trial on the original charges of aggravated sexual assault, overcoming resistance by choking and uttering threats involving a woman in her 20s.  After listening to testimony from the victim during the preliminary hearing, the Crown added charges of break and enter, confinement and unlawfully being in a dwelling.  He’ll be back in court tomorrow when dates will be set for the trial.
