The settlement in a class-action suit against the South West Nova District Health Authority will see a $1 million total payout to victims. The authority had sent letters to about 700 people in 2012 saying their information had been inappropriately accessed by an employee. Roseway Hospital in Shelburne now has 40 days to pay.

Hants West MLA Chuck Porter is pleased
Hants West MLA Chuck Porter says he’s happy Premier Stephen McNeil named him as the deputy speaker of the Legislature.
He’s served the people of Hants West for over ten years.
The former paramedic was first elected in 2006 as a Tory and was returned to his seat in 2009 and 2013.
He left the PC Party in 2014 and joined the Liberals.
