There may be more low cost bus passes available soon.

Halifax Transit says a pilot project over the last six months has been very successful and drawn positive comments. 500 half price monthly passes were made available to low income people. Now they’re looking to double that to 1,000.

Finance Minister Randy Delorey says Ottawa is telling the province it wants tens of millions of dollars in HST revenue overpayments over the last five years.

Delorey said Nova Scotia’s repayment would be less than $100 million, which will be reflected in his spring budget.
