Pride releases open-letter apology

Halifax Pride has apologized for its lack of inclusiveness.  The organization put out an open letter, which vowed to do better in that regard during the annual summer festival.  It referenced last year’s AGM, and how their “decision-making process was flawed and allowed for a meeting full of racism, misogyny and hate”.

Teachers to Vote on New Deal This Week

Parents will find out this week if the labour war between teachers and the province will continue. The Nova Scotia Teachers Union is set to vote Wednesday on a third tentative deal reached between the Union’s leadership and the province. Teachers voted down the two previous agreements. Despite a war of words and a return to work -to-rule since the third tentative deal was reached – the NSTU is still recommending teachers accept it.
