Teachers reject latest tentative contract
Teachers have rejected the latest tentative contract with the province. The vote was over 78% against, despite the union recommending it be accepted. Class conditions and workload, and scrapping the long service award are still main issues for teachers. In a statement, Education Minister Karen Casey said it was reached after an intense and productive period of bargaining, and the “no” vote is disappointing.
