Halifax police are investigating a pair of robberies in the same neighborhood on Saturday. Shortly after 2pm a man entered the C Smoke shop on Young Street and demanded money. Earlier Saturday, around 2am, a man with a similar description robbed a Shell gas station on Robie Street. The suspect made of with an undisclosed amount of cash from both businesses. Police are investigation a possible connection between the two robberies. in both cases the suspect is described as a white man in his 30’s with scruffy facial hair wearing a dark jacket and dark toque.

Injured Hiker Rescued Near Halifax
An injured hiker had to be rescued just outside Halifax on Saturday morning. A Halifax Fire rescue boat was able to reach the injured man by water in Duncan’s Cove. The man was reportedly hiking the Chebucto Head Trail when he slipped and suffered a suspected broken ankle. The injured hiker was taken to the Ketch Harbour wharf and transported to hospital by ambulance.
