The faculty at Cape Breton University has ratified a new contract. Faculty voted Wednesday on whether or not to accept the offer which had already been ratified by the university’s board of governors . 103 faculty members voted in favour of the deal while 20 voted against it.

Man Dies after Falling From Roof in South Rawdon, NS
A 31-year-old man died after falling from the roof of home in South Rawdon on Friday morning. RCMP say the man was shoveling snow from the roof of a home that was under construction on Ashdale Road when he fell shortly before 9am. Paramedics and firefighters from Brooklyn responded to the scene. The man was taken to the Hants Community Hospital in Windsor but was pronounced dead on arrival. The accident is currently under investigation by the provincial Labour Department and the RCMP.
