Chain pickerel are in the LaHave River. A spring study by the Bluenose Coastal Action Foundation shows the invasive species have been eating Atlantic salmon smolts as they head out to sea. The latter’s population has gone down significantly already, and this won’t help.

Teen’s death ruled a homicide
Police have now ruled the death of a teen in Dartmouth a homicide.
18 year old Chelsie Probert was found dying on a park path in the north-end of Dartmouth, just off Albro Lake Road, Tuesday night. She died later in hospital.
Police have not released the cause of death. They are canvassing the area looking for any witnesses or video from surveillance cameras that will held in the investigation.
