A Montreal man has been charged with attempting to defraud a bank. Police responded to the Portland Street CIBC in downtown Dartmouth yesterday evening after staff saw a man doing suspicious transactions. 25-year-old Steven Kimbau faces one count each of fraud over $5000, fraud under $5000 and resisting arrest; and two counts each of identity fraud and uttering forged documents.

Black Rock Beach to have no lifeguard due to lack of use
Black Rock Beach won’t have a lifeguard this season. The city says only 59 people went for a swim last summer during supervised days, and the number had been going down over the years.
