Boutiliers Point man facing charges after stabbing

A Boutiliers Point man was arrested after a stabbing at the Government Wharf on St. Margaret’s Bay.  The suspect entered a residence around 4:00 Saturday afternoon and was told to leave.  The victim then drove to the wharf and confronted him, at which point he was stabbed in the foot.  38-year-old Kevin Arthur Whiting is up on several charges.

Restorative Justice Program expanded to adults

The province’s Restorative Justice Program has been expanded to adults.  Justice Minister Diana Whalen made the announcement today at the symposium in Halifax.  The expansion stems from successful pilots starting in 2011, with successful restitution rates, strong support from criminal justice partners and high satisfaction among victims.
