A 22-year-old Cape Breton singer-songwriter has been charged with sexually assaulting a boy under the age of 16. Johnathan Stephen MacInnis of Northside East Bay is scheduled to appear in court next month on charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching involving a person under the age of 16. The offences are alleged to have occurred between August and November. MacInnis was scheduled to perform in Sydney next month as part of his fifth annual Christmas show but the show is now cancelled.

Armed Robbery at Dartmouth Store
At approximately 9:25 PM Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery at the Woodside Mini Mart located at 553 Pleasant St in Dartmouth that had occurred approximately 5 minutes earlier. A masked man had entered the store armed with a knife demanding money from the store staff. The staff member was not injured and the man left the store with a quantity of money. It is believed that the man then fled the area on foot. The area was searched by HRP patrol members and HRP K9 but a suspect was not located. The suspect is described as a white man, aged 20-30 years, tall and thin, 6’0 tall, wearing a red fabric over his face, black leather jacket, black pants? and a black baseball cap with no logo.
