Teachers and Civil Servants Resume Talks with Province

The union that represents seven thousand civil servants in Nova Scotia is headed back to the bargaining table on Monday. The Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union requested a resumption of talks on Thursday. On Wednesday union members rejected a tentative agreement by 94 per cent. Meanwhile, the province is also expected to resume talks today with the union representing Nova Scotia’s nine-thousand public school teachers.

RCMP Looking for Missing Eskasoni Man

Eskasoni RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 79-year-old Camillius Alex Senior who was last seen on December 13, 2016 on Mountain Rd. walking towards the community of Eskasoni.
Alex is described as being 6-foot-1, approximately 190 pounds, with grey hair and brown eyes. When he was last seen, he was wearing a dark coat, hoodie and dark gloves with a walking cane. The RCMP is concerned for his well-being as he requires medical assistance.
