Two people have been arrested after allegedly robbing the Herring Cove Sobey’s and threatening an employee with a knife on Saturday morning. Police say the two men were seen stealing items and staff confronted them. One of the men pulled out a large knife and threatened a worker before fleeing in a vehicle. A witness followed the men and police were able to make an arrest on Hartlen Avenue. A 23-year-old Halifax man is facing robbery, theft and weapons charges while a 22-year-old Bedford man is facing theft and possession charges.

Thaw Coming to NS Today
Meteorologists say parts of Atlantic Canada will see will temperature swings today as a warm front makes its way through the East Coast. The agency says warmer temperatures will turn snowfall into rain in many regions, posing a risk of localized flooding. Yesterday’s snow storm caused a number of power outages around the province. As of this morning most have seen the lights come back on, however one large outage is still affecting nearly two-thousand customers in the Wallace-Pugwash area of Cumberland County. A number of smaller outages in Cape Breton are also still affecting areas around Port Hood, Inverness and Port Hawkesbury.
