Naloxone kits for police

More and more police in Halifax are getting the Naloxone drug overdose kits. Metro reports about 70 RCMP officers have them and 15 Halifax police cars are carrying them…but the force is working on getting nasal kits which are easier to administer.

Two people in HRM overdosed on fentanyl last week bringing the total here this year to over 50. Police are carrying the anti-overdose kits in case they are affected. Miniscule amounts of fentanyl can kill.

Boil order in Greenwood

The boil order continues for people on the Greenwood village water utility…and likely will until Thursday.

The boil roder was instituted after a leak in a main water line yesterday. The order means people should boil water meant for consumption for at least a minuite which includes brushing teeth, washing foods and making ice cubs.

They need clean tests to come back 24 hours apart before the boil advisory can be lifted.
