Premier Stephen McNeil has announced staff changes in his office. Chief of Staff Kristan Hines will be moving to the private sector, and current Deputy Chief of Staff Ryan Grant will take over. The changes are effective January 4th.

Bail granted in murder case
The Crown lawyer was shocked and disappointed that a man, charged with murdering an off duty police constable, was released on bail yesterday.
28 year old Christopher Calvin Garnier has been in custody since his arrest in September last year. His trial isn’t scheduled to begin until November next year in the death of Catherine Campbell.
Crown Attorney Carla Bell told CBC there were concerns about public safety and confidence in the administration of justice if Garnier were released.
