It was the ultimate Canadian coffee run.

An Alberta man had taken his Zamboni, which he used for his backyard rink in Stony Plains, to a mechanic for a tuneup. The mechanic challenged him to take it to Tim Horton’s. Jesse Myshak thought it was a good idea and went to pick up his double-double on the ice machine.

In the NHL…the Leafs blanked the Avalnche 6-0.  Minnesota downed Montreal 4-2.   Jets handled Vancouver 4-1. The Senators  edged Anaheim 2-1.  Bruins beat the Panthers 3-1. with Jaromir Jagr getting an asst and moving past Mark Messier into second place on the NHL’s all-time scoring list.

In football…Philadelphia prevented the Giants from clinching an NFL playoff berth with a 24-19 win.

In baseball…it looks as if Edwin Encarnacion will be going to Cleveland in a three-year deal worth $65 million.
