Low-cost internet for public housing

Residents of three Halifax public housing buildings will be getting very low-cost internet next year.

The Chebucto Community Net’s Andrew Wright says residents in 478 units at Ahern Manor, Gordon B. Isnor Manor and Sunrise Manor will get internet connections for $125 a year. Wright says his group is paying to use Dalhousie University’s network and should be connected by the spring.

Storm coming

More nasty weather is on the way tonight and tomorrow.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement and various warnings for different parts of the Maritimes.

In Nova Scotia, the system is expected to bring high winds, heavy rains and storm surges. Heavy snowfall and gusty winds are forecast for much of New Brunswick.
