A 24 year old woman was taen to hospital after a car-pedestrian accident yesterday evening at Bubilee Road and Preston Street.
A 69 year old man was ticketed. The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening.

A social justice advocacy group is fighting the police use of street checks.
Lawyer Shawna Hoyte says Black Nova Scotia is calling for an independant review of the practice and says they should be suspended until that’s done. She and other social workers have written to the Serious Incident Response Team and Human Rights Commission with their concerns about the street checks because black people are at least three times more likely to be stopped by police than whites.
