Acadians win court battle over riding boundaries

The province French-speaking population has won a major court battle over the makeup of electoral districts.

The government will appoint an independent commission and consult with Acadian leaders to redraw boundaries to provide the Acadian minority with better representation in the legislature.

The previous NDP government redrew three predominantly Acadian ridings to include more English speakers.
