Former Dalhousie CAO suing for wrongful dismissal

Former Dalhousie CAO Christy Arseneau is suing the town for wrongful dismissal.  The Tribune reports a statement of claim saying officers of a New Brunswick municipality – except auditors –  can’t be fired unless there’s just cause.  Her lawyers allege saving money isn’t that, which was said to be behind last summer’s move.

Canadian Red Cross closure in the Acadian Peninsula

This afternoon at 5, the Canadian Red Cross will close a temporary office set up three weeks ago at the Inkerman Community Centre on the Acadian Peninsula to aid those most severely impacted financially by the January 24th ice storm and power outages.

People still awaiting money by a prepaid credit card will be directed to their nearest Red Cross office once their card is available.

In most cases, this will be the office at 613-5 Trout River Road in Tracadie during normal business hours.
