The old Memorial Gardens site on Arran Street is having its soil tested.

If it passes, it could be a possible location for the new K to 8 anglophone school.

As of the moment, there has not been a site specifically selected for the new school, which will have students from three different schools; the Campbellton Middle School, Lord Beaverbrook School and the Tide Head School.

Those three will then be closed.

39-year old Larry Samson of Eel River Crossing, who roughed-up two police officers after assaulting the mother of his five children; has been sentenced.

Samson got six-months of house arrest, followed by 18 months of probation.

He was also banned from owning guns for a decade, and fined 700 dollars.
