Amherst energy plans

Cumberland North MLA Terry Farrell says that a “clean” energy project is coming to Amherst.

Taxpayer’s will fork over 12 thousand, five hundred dollars in provincial funding for a study of smart grid technology in Amherst.

A smart grid is an electricity network that uses digital information to react to changes in energy use.

Port Greville project

High-speed internet is coming to the Port Greville area.

Premier Stephen McNeil recently announced 1.44 million dollars for improved rural internet access, including grants of 75 thousand and just over 48 thousand for the Shore Drive Community Development Association.

They’re also getting 9 thousand from Cumberland County.
