On Saturday July 29th, Camp Tidnish will mark 80 years of service to disabled persons of all ages.
The free event is open to everyone, and will run from 3 til 8pm on July 29th; featuring camp tours, boat rides; a barbecue, and music performed by local band called Second Toe.
65 year old Phil Baxter of Amherst was recently honoured with the highest award that can be given out by the Amherst Lions Club and the Lions Clubs International Foundation.
He got the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, for his service to the community.
