A protest was held yesterday in Truro over the burning of tires at the Canada LaFarge cement plant in Brookfield.
The group gathered to protest the plan to burn the rubber tires, expressing concern the burning could have adverse effects on people’s health and the environment. Others are also concerned that burning the tires will leave fewer for C&D recycling which turns them into material used in asphalt.
