A Shediac cape Woman has escaped jail time for stealing thousands of dollars from her employer.
21 year old Amy Catherine Short pleaded guilty to a number of thefts from Wilson’s Gas Bar in Shediac and other stores in January and February, taking thousands of dollars to feed a drug habit.
The Crown wanted a four month jail term but the judge decided on a six month conditional sentence with two months of house arrest and probation as long as she seeks rehabilitation for her drug habit. Her family has already paid back the money she stole.
