A Saint John man has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for sexual assault, according to the Telegraph-Journal.
37 year old Derek Schedler changed his plea to guilty last month to sexually assaulting a woman while she was unconcious in May of 2015. The victim told the judge in a victim impact statement she can no longer work, doesn’t go out at night and is scared to death Schedler will try to apologize in person after he has done his time.
His lawyer asked for 12 months but the judge accepted the crown recommendation of 18 months.
