Port Hood Beach fatality

A Sydney man is dead after experiencing medical distress while swimming at Port Hood Beach Saturday.

Paul D’Eon, the director of the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service; said the man was swimming with his wife when two lifeguards saw them in trouble.  They swam out and with much difficulty got them into shore.  They gave him oxygen and used a difbrillator, but the 59 year old man was declared dead at the scene.
