Inverness County has dropped plans to expand the Margaree airport.
It earmarked $3 million in 2014 for an expansion project but that was contingent on getting money from the other levels of government, and it never happened. Councillor Jim Mustard told CBC putting the expansion on hold gets this elephant off their shoulders and the county can deal with other concerns such as housing, water-system upgrades internet and cell phone service as well as youth employment.
