A New Brunswick man was killed while rescuing a whale in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. DFO confirmed a fatality yesterday involving one of its boats, and CBC reports Campobello Island’s Joe Howlett died during the rescue. He previously helped rescue several other whales in the past.
