Junk food and kids

BanningĀ  junk food from school cafeterias could boost students’ health.

UNB Researcher Philip Leonard says banning junk food in schools could encourage kids to choose healthier options. He found students who faced junk food bans in their schools were on average two pounds lighter than those who didn’t after five years. He says even that slight difference shows such bans can have a positive effect in the fight against childhood obesity.
