Valley man sent for psychiatric assessment

A man has been sent for a psychiatric assessment after a strange incident last week in the Valley.

Annapolis County Spectator reports staff at the NEEDS store on Main Street in Middleton called police to say a shirtless man was standing outside their store with a knife in one hand and a bible in the other. Police arrived and found the man who refused to drop his knife so he was tasered.

The man was checked out in hospital then taken before a juidge who ordered a 30 day psychiatric exam. He’s charged with assaulting police and weapons counts.
