Kings County cutbacks

There’ll be less paving of roads in Kings County this year because the provincial government is cutting back funding.

The county requested $600,000 worth of paving with it cost sharing with the province half and half.  But the government only approved a total of $136,000 which will mean less than one kilometre will be paved.

Engineering and Public Works, Lands and Park Services manager Scott Quinn told the Kings County News three of the four roads getting work done are because of the Greenwood water project.  The fourth is Neily Crescent which was part of a separate water project two years ago.
